A chamfer is an angled cut on the square edge of a piece of stock. Chamfer bits are versatile, in that one bit can create a number of different-size chamfers based on the depth of the cut. As with the beading bit, some chamfer bits have a ball bearing guide that rides along the edge of the stock.
Dimar’s Adjustable Chamfering Set is very practical bit. It will chamfer a combination of 30° and/or 45° on various thicknesses of stock. You may apply a chamfer to one side or two sides at the same time.
