TEGS Tools & Machinery is a 3rd generation family owned and operated business serving Hamilton and surrounding areas for over 35 years.  We have 2 retail store locations and nearly 10,000 square feet of combined showroom space providing our customers with a diverse selection of tools and machinery.  We have built a reputation as being one of the premier tool retailers in the country, offering our customers the best advice, product knowledge, selection and customer service.  Our selection of tools, machinery, outdoor equipment, hand tools, specialty tools and all related accessories and consumables satisfies the needs of construction professionals, tradespeople, institutional or industrial customers and do-it-yourselfers. At TEGS, we pride ourselves in our ability to advise our customers on the right tool for the job.

Customer Service - Retail Tools & Machinery
  • Full-time (44 hours per week) Monday – Saturday (Closed Sundays)
  • The position is in both Hamilton & Rymal Road locations.

Job Description
You will have a friendly and cheerful disposition, a willingness to learn, and previous experience in a retail environment. You will be responsible for providing excellent customer service through your product knowledge and active marketing of current sales and promotions. At TEGS our staff works as a team. Every member of our team is an essential part of the day to day operations. Whether it’s greeting customers, re-merchandising, offering advice or making sales, we strive to deliver the best shopping experience from start to finish.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Ensure a positive shopping experience by actively greeting all visitors, being visible, friendly and knowledgeable about our products.
  • Contribute positively to building and maintaining a friendly, service orientated store and work environment.
  • Build customer relationships by providing exceptional sales and after-sales service.
  • Establish rapport and proactively ascertain customer product needs.
  • Deliver the sales of products and services by determining the customer needs and recommending the best solutions.
  • Work collaboratively as a member of the sales team.
  • Maintain an up-to-date expertise in products, services, and promotions.
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and co-workers.
  • Keeping shelves stocked and correctly displayed.
  • Ability to aid customers in locating merchandise throughout the store.
  • Assist in floor moves and cleanup ensuring a safe and clean work environment.
  • Perform order management duties such as entering new orders for customers, reaching out to vendors on special orders, tracking and fulfilling orders, and resolving issues.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
  • Janitorial and maintenance duties as required.
  • Local deliveries from time to time.


Shipping and Receiving Coordinator
  • Full-time (44 hours per week) Monday – Saturday (Closed Sundays)
  • The position is at the Rymal Road location.

Essential Tasks & Responsibilities
  • Deliver the sales of products and services by determining customer needs and recommending the best solutions
  • Maintain an up-to-date expertise of products, services and promotions
  • Maintain professionalism when interacting with customers and co-workers
  • Build customer relationships by being courteous, providing prompt and exceptional sales and after sales service
  • Ability to aid customers in locating merchandise throughout the store
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and able to lift and move merchandise up to 100lbs.
  • Receive, check and confirm purchase orders, allocate special orders and contact customers, price and merchandise
  • Un/loading of trucks using various material handling equipment such as forklift, pump truck and dollies.
  • Prepare and complete orders for shipping, delivery or pickup
  • Transport and delivery of machinery and tool products to and from our warehouse, stores and customers
  • Assist in floor moves, display maintenance and cleanup ensuring a safe and clean work environment
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes
  • Janitorial and maintenance duties as required
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Must have minimum 2 years experience
